Urgent Care
Penrith Medicare Urgent Care Clinic has moved!
The Penrith Medicare Urgent Care Clinic is now located inside the Nepean Health Hub on the ground floor of 13 Barber Avenue, Kingswood and is delivered by Octa Medical.Urgent Care can treat urgent non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries that can’t wait for your usual GP, such as closed fractures, wounds (or injuries requiring stitching), burns, leg ulcers, gastro, conditions requiring IV treatment, urinary tract infections (UTIs), ear, nose and throat infections, flu, bronchitis, rashes, small abscesses needing drainage and more.
Urgent Care does not replace the need for you to have a regular GP, who should always be the first point of contact for your urgent healthcare needs. Urgent Care cannot provide healthcare services such as vaccinations, preventative health screening, mental health care plans or chronic disease management.
If you or a loved one has a life-threatening injury or illness, do not attend an Urgent Care. Do not attend an Urgent Care for chest pain or tightness, breathing difficulties, uncontrollable bleeding, severe burns, poisoning, numbness or paralysis, ongoing fever in infants, or if the patient is unconscious, unresponsive or having seizures. Call triple zero (000) or go to your nearest emergency department.
There are two Commonwealth-funded Medicare Urgent Care Clinics in the Nepean Blue Mountains region, located in Penrith and Windsor, and one NSW Health-funded Urgent Care Service in North Richmond accessed via healthdirect.
